recently my daughter had her sweet sixteenth birthday and it went really well so i thought i would tell you about it.we decided to invite five of her closest friends that she's known since they were six years old.For our invitations we bought blank, cards that went really well with the color theme of the party.the colours we eventually chose pink and white,as they are cute and remind us of her childhood.they came with beautiful pastel pink envelopes and the card is nice with a cute but simple pattern and little glittery butterflies[her childhood favourite creature].we then wrote out all the information out in a silvery pink glittery pen.we used a nice stencil for the writing that ended up looking like it had really been proffesionally written which was great.we wrote inside a quote about being 16 and then wrote this:You are invited to Jody's's Sweet 16,and then all the usual info like time,place,date,attire,what to bring, etc.On the envelope we wrote the invitee's name with the same fancy font using the stencil.. If you want it to be formal, write first and last names.we did'nt but its up to you.Since I did not want to have the party at a hall and were only inviting close friends, and as a traditional Sweet 16, I still wanted the dressing up aspect of it. (getting hair/nails done, nice dresses, etc) If you are doing this, you have to pick somewhere where you actually can dress up like this and is very formal; not a casual local eating place like mcdonalds where it would look weird because you would be the only ones who are dressed up.after the dinner head to the hotel room to play games.they changed into pajamas then they played truth or dare and some dares were really funny,like kiss the waiter,or go to the bar and ask for 16 glasses of red wine for free.they made ice-cream sundaes which was a big hit,and everyone had great ideas that all involved chocolate.then we played pin the beer on homer simpson[my daughters idea,a bit strange but they loved it].then there was scary movies and charades all the usual stuff and they loved their mini makeup sets they won as prizes .it was a really good party.they chatted till they  fell asleep-it was all on video and we showed it the next morning.breakfast was muffins.
