My sweet sixteen was so amazing!
I really wanted it to be low-budget, memorable, and elegant... and it was all of the above! My birthday fell on a friday, and it was in the summer, so i went ahead and had the party on my actual b-day. My invitations were home-made. I got little gift boxes (cubes) from my local gift store, and filled them each with shiny, silver filling (like the stuff that you put in easter baskets), then I put little shiny disco balls" (like ornaments) into the center of the boxes. On the lid/flap I printed off basic info about the party and simply pasted them onto the lid closed the box and tied a beautiful silver ribbon around the box securing it. In all they ended up only costing about 2-3 dollars a piece and i hand delivered them to all of my (20 guests; about 15 friends and 5 of my family members). I rented out a conference room at one of the nicest hotels that I could find. They supplied the tables and chairs I just covered the table in a beautiful white fabric and put a silver overlay mesh thing with a silver design to catch the light I also covered the chairs. I decorated the table with voitive candles and other shiny things (left-over disco balls from the invites). I placed the candles on silver servers (like cupcake holders). iI also placed a large disco ball above the table. I used clear plates forks etc. I served salad and some of my favorite dishes. I also made a little bouquet of champange glasses with sparkling mineral water and fake champange. The attire was formal and i wore an original tiara made by a local artist. I also hired a local violin player... my party was amazing it was one for a princess and it will never be topped! "
