My Sweet Sixteen party is in December but I have already started planning it.  Actually my mom & I are planning it. The theme is winter wonderland since my birthday is in December. I am holding it at a local fire hall and about 100 people are going to be invited. The color scheme is light blue, silver and white.  When you walk into the hall there will be two or three collages of me ranging from birth to 11th grade, and there will be white balloons behind them (one on each side of the door). The room is going to be dark and is mostly a dance party. I will be hiring a DJ for the night so that parents etc. will not have to manage the music and could also have a good time. There will be this silver metallic snowflakes hanging from all over the place and silver, white, and light blue balloons will be everywhere.  My mom and I found these 3 ft. carboard snowflakes (3Dish) that we might line the room in. In the corner of the room and small square room will be set up and it will be used as a confessional. A video camera will be put in there before the party and all throughout the party the guests can go in and pretty much say what they want to me.  At the moment I am looking for a short silver party dress, my aunt has offered to buy it for me as a gift.  We will probably go shopping soon.  Instead of hiring a professional photographer I will place alot of disposable camera's all around the room so my friends & family can take pictures all thorughout the night. For dinner we are serving chicken parm., salad, penne, and a 6ft hero for those who don't like the other food. Luckily my mom is a professional cake decorator and she will be making the cake for my party.  It is absolutely so cute and I love it! It is a three layer cake and the first layer is purple fondant, the second green, and the third (top) blue.  One the sides there will be these 3D white christmas trees. I can't really describe it to well but it is to die for. One of my many favors are white candles in personalized votive candle holders. The candle holders will say 'Jackie's Sweet Sixteen' and then enclosed around a snowflake border.  The entertainment is mostly dancing, the party will pretty much be like a homecoming dance at school except batter.  Everyone has to dress up! My mom had this great idea that we play a game called 'Who knows the most about Jackie?'  It's a trivia game and whoever wins will win a gift certificate to American Eagle or another store. Toward's the end of the night we will have the cake. I am orginally from New York City and the Sweet Sixteen's there always have a sort-of candle dedication. So there will be 17 candles on my cake (1 for good luck) and I will dedicate each candle to either one person or a whole group (i.e. my parents for one candle and my soccer team for another.) To make the room look so cool my mom and I are ordering glow necklaces, sticks, and braclets in bulk. Also for fun things to dance with all of the guys will get metallic pimp hats and the girls will get feather boas.  There are so many other things that are going to be handed out like maraccas and bubbles but there are too many to write. I forgot about the invitation! I am going to order them from a printing company in Wilmington. The invitations have snowflakes at the top on a white cardstock paper and it will have a personalized poem about the party in silver ink.  I just can't wait for my party and I hope it is so much fun!
