I had been to many of my friends Sweet 16 parties. Lots of my friends had parties at Country Clubs or expensive restaurant, one of my friends even rented a limo and we all went out to an expensive restaurant for dinner. But, for my Sweet 16, I wanted a theme party. So, I had a big party at this ritzy hotel downtown (the Providence Biltmore Hotel). I invited about 70 people, family and lots of friends. The theme of the party was flowers, my invitations were flowered, and I gave all the guests (kids and adults) flowered leis! I ordered a wedding cake with brightly colored flowers on it, too. My friends and I had a blast! For the party favors, I ordered scooter pies and rice crispy treats covered in white chocolate and sprinkles with chocolate flowers on top of them from a nearby bakery (Dyane's Sweet Tooth).The favors were wrapped in a metallic paper and tied with brightly colored ribbons; they were a hit!! At the party we also did a lot of fun group dances such as the Macarena, and a Conga line!! On the tables, I sprinkled confetti that said 16 on it around the flower arrangements. For the flower arrangements, the florist used colorful flowers such as hot pink roses, daisies, carnations, and babies' breath that was dyed a purplish blue color. Another good idea is to put little disposable cameras on each table so guests can take lots of pictures!! Also, at the hotel where I had my party, there is a huge lit up glass elevator that gives you a great view of the city of Providence at night, so about 10 of my friends and I squeezed into the elevator and rode it up to the top floor and we had the best view of the city!! Another good idea for a Sweet Sixteen is a video presentation. For my 16th, my parents had a video made up of pictures of me with my friends and family put to music (sort of like a power point presentation. All the guests enjoyed it a lot!! My friends are still talking about it!!! So, to everyone out there who's planning a Sweet 16, Be Creative!!! Remember, it doesn't matter what you do as long as you have fun!!
