When it comes to my birthday, I hate when it is its just before Christmas and everyone is either gone or is too busy so I'm having my party a week before my birthday. I am on a low budget this year since we are moving. So I decided that I am going to rent out a rec center that has at least the capacity of 100 people. I am going to do the Invitations myself with the help of a select few of my friends, and they will be black and white with a bow that is the same colour as my dress. Since the theme is a semi formal black and white dance party but some of my friends aren't really dancers, then there will be tables and chairs set up so they can sit around and talk with one another. For my decorations I'm going to have black and white table cloths each one alternating so they are opposite of each other. For center pieces there will be two streamers going through the middle of the table that are opposite of the table cloth color and for the main center piece there will be glass bowls in the middle of each table with either gold fish in them or just coloured water. And then there will be white floating candles in each glass bowl. There will be Black, White and Silver balloons everywhere and some filled with helium around the presents and cake table. There will be black lights and different coloured lights from store and a coloured disco ball hopefully in the middle of the room, and then there will be strobe lights pointed at the dance floor area. In each corner of the room at the ceiling there will be streamers alternating in colour all along the top going towards the middle of the room meeting at the middle where the disco ball will be. There will be a DJ at one corner area of the room too. For food I am going to finger foods like Chips and such but also Finger food Desserts like cookies and brownies and for drinks there will be water and either a punch or Soda. Instead of guest book there will be a big poster board with a blown up childhood picture of me and a silver permanent marker for people to sign and write a few words if they like. And at the Main entrance there will be a SWEET 16 banner hanging. Everyone will be wearing Black and white and since I want to stand out, two of my closest friends and I will be wearing bright coloured dresses and I will be wearing a Tiara. I am not going to enter until about 15 minutes after the party has started, since that's when most of the guests will be there and they will be standing around mingling with one another. Friends and I will enter after a song of my choice is played and we are announced over the microphone. We will all then start dancing and in about the middle of the dance we will play a game of murder. And then we will cut the cake after wards and there will be a father daughter dance part to a song that means a lot to us and then he will hand me off to my boyfriend and then the party will get started again. And as a party favor I am going to hand out Mardi gras beads (black and White), tied together with a ribbon that is the same colour as my dress and a thank you note attached.
