For my 18th birthday my friend and I decided to combine our birthdays for the ultimate birthday party. Invitations: for invitations I made an event page on facebook - this is easy cheap and efficient. This party idea is best for larger groups: it is a combination between ideas from survivor and amazing race. Decorations: balloons (yellow orange and white) tiki themed table cloth tiki torches or other candles and streamer (yellow orange and green). Activities Food and Costumes: (Food:) The party will start out on a beach where we will have a table covered in a tiki themed cloth set with food like fruit chips and soda for guests to snack on as they arrive. Guests will begin arriving at 6pm and will just be relaxing until 7:30pm. Then the survivor portion of the party will begin. The rules are as follows: 1) To start there will only be two teams. The yellow team and the orange team. As the teams complete more and more challenges a third team will emerge: the green team. 2) (Costumes:) Each team will be given with a bag filled with leis party beads a plastic megaphone and stick on tattoos. Teams must designate which team they are assigned using these materials. 3) All challenges are reward challenges. There are no immunity challenges. After each challenge both teams must go to tribal council. At tribal council each team must vote one member of their team off their tribe. This member will then go to the green team. There will be four challenges: the Shelter Challenge the Treasure Chest Challenge the Waterballoon Challenge and the Blindman Challenge. (Activities:)1) Shelter Challenge: Every survivor needs a shelter! You and your team are going to be given the materials needed to construct a tent. There will be no instructions. Your goal is to 1) build the tent as fast as you can and 2) fit as many of your team members in the tent AND be able to zip up the doors�. There will be separate awards given for each of those accomplishments. 2) Treasure Chest Challenge: Tied to two spots are balloons: Find the balloons for your team (orange or yellow) and pop all the balloons until you find the one with cut out letters in it. These letters make up a word. The first team to unscramble the letter find the treasure chest and bring it back to me wins this challenge. 3) Water Balloon Challenge: Set up will be a basket�. One member of each team will be a catcher four members will be goalies and one will be thrower. The goal of the game is for the catchers to catch as many water balloons as they can while the opposing team tries to hit them down with a bat. You will have 2 minutes to catch as many water balloons as you can. The team with the most water balloons at the end of the time wins. 4) Blind Challenge: In this challenge each team will select one set of eyes the rest of the team will be blinded. The leader using only their voice will navigate the team who will have a series of tasks to complete. For the first task there will be a ball placed somewhere on the beach. Located in a different spot on the beach will be a bucket. The team must find this ball and place it in the bucket. Favors: after each challenge the winning team will receive a piece of mini candy (a 150 ct bag of mini candies can be found at costco for $14). At the end of these challenges we will have three teams that should be about equal in number. We will then move onto the Amazing Race portion of the challenge. We will carpool people to a nearby park where they will compete in the Battle Point Park Race: Your first road block will be placed in Battle Point Park. You will need to locate two balloons each labeled Station 1� and A� or B�. At these two balloons you will have a choice between choice A which is more difficult but could potentially get you to your destination faster and B which is easier but could potentially cause delay. From here you are on your own. First person to the finish wins. (all the balloons will lead them to various way points until they find me and the other birthday girl hiding). Next we will carpool to a local video store in the Silver Screen Challenge: Here you must go to the front desk and tell the cashier you are with Annalise and Amanda's birthday party. They will then ask you a trivia question. If you get it right you will receive your next clue if you get it wrong you will be given an extra task before you can move on. From here you are on your own. First to finish wins. ) the clue leads them to Safeway where they will buy materials to make smores). We will then go to my friend's house where we will have lantern lights balloons and streamers covering her yard. We will have chairs and blankets set out and we will project a movie onto the side of her house. This is a simple task as long as you have a projector (which you can rent at a video store) and a white bed sheet. We also ordered a special order costco cake which we will eat during the movie. The party ends at midnight when the movie is over.       "
