Party Theme: Survivor For My Brother's 17th birthday, I threw him a Survivor Themed Party. We wanted something that woudln't cost too much money, because we we're inviting about fifty people.
Invitations: We got on the internet and found out what My brother's name was in hawaiian. His name is Jackie, so his hawaiian name was " Keakuki". On the invitations, we wrote our
own poem: "ISLAND KEAKUKI" There is no words to decribe it! Can YOU Survive it? Which Tribe will you end up in? Will you lose or will you win? Can you make it out alive? Will your
tribe the one to thrive? Island Keakuki is the place to be! Come on over and you will see! For REAL FUN and Competition, Come join your tribe and take your position! Will you take the
challenge at: ISLAND KEAKUKI! On the next page, we listed all the info. We then rolled them up, with ISLAND KEAKUKI showing on the roll. We tied them with brown raffia.
We had the party from 5p.m. - 9p.m. so that it would be nighttime. We bought tiki torches and light them to give the party a JUNGLE feeling. As each person arrived, they drew a name out of a basket. It listed their tribe name. They had to go and mingle and get to know their fellow tribe members. We made up our own names for tribes, and each tribe had a color. They got a ribbon that was their color they tied around their arm, head, etc. Once everyone was there, We started the races. We did things such as: Build you own shelter, using a quit I put together consisting of: 10 bamboo sticks, a spool of rope, a sheet, and scissors ( for the rope). They had 15 minutes to build it, and then it had to pass the " Hurricane Test". We also had a race to see who could fill their bucket by filling a bucket, pouring the water into the next bucket, and so on, until they filled a bottle. The tribe that did it the fastest won points. We had a neighborhood scavenger hunt, and the tribe who got all the things on the list, won points also. After all the games, We added up the points, and the tribe with the most got a prize. For Food, I made a palm tree cake, were I baked a sheet cake, then cut it out with a knife in the shape of a palm tree, I made the leaves green icing, and the trunk brown. We also had punch, hot dogs ( to keep down the cost), and other various fruits. We decorated with traditional survivor colors: Yellow, Orange, and green. We had streamers, balloons, and multi-colored twinkle lights also. Everyone had a blast, and it was better than a traditional "Pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey" Party, and everyone loved having Yribes! I hope this idea is helpful to everyone! I also hope that "BirthdayPartyIdeas.com" knows that they are such a help to all of us party-planners out here! Thanks you guys!! Keep up the AWESOME WORK!
