The Plan: The three of us best friends decided to throw a Surprise Birthday Party for our other best friend, Lindsay. We looked through ideas, and decided on a Makeover Luau party. We decided that Kelsey would do everyone's hair, Jeanelle would do our nails, and Sarah would do the make up. We decided to invite close friends only. That way the party was small so we could have everyone spend the night. We talked to Lindsay's mom and she said it would be fine since Lindsay wasn't expecting a birthday party. We started thinking of where to do it, and we decided on Jeanelle's house. Jeanelle's mom is an excellent cook, and they have a big area to sleep in. We planned that the weekend before the bash, we would all meet at Party City and get decorations. We had already agreed to split the costs between the three of us for whatever we bought. At Party City, we bought cute Pineapple cups, paper plates and napkins, streamers, leis, bubbles, a cheesy Birthday crown, a fold out pineapple, balloons, a real pineapple, and little umbrellas to put in our cups. The Party: Lindsay thinks that her mom is taking her to soccer practice on Saturday at 3:00. We told her mom to pack her a bag with pajamas, clothes for the next day, a swimming suit, and toiletries plus a sleeping bag and pillow. Sarah and Kelsey will go to Jeanelle's house ahead of time to set up. We will set up streamers, balloons, blow up palm trees, pinapples, sea shells, leis, snacks, and make over stations. Everyone will arrive at Jeanelle's house at 2:30, and Lindsay will arrive at 3:00. We will be hiding in the living room, and will jump out to say "Surprise" when she walks in. Everyone will receive a Spa Appointment card, and they will sit down to have their make over. Everyone will get their hair, makeup, and nails done. Then they will get dressed and we will go to the movies. When we get home from the movies, we will have a fancy dinner with spaghetti, garlic bread, Cesar salad, and margaritas. We made menus in Italian just for fun. When we are done with dinner, we will get on our swimming suits and go in the hot tub for a while and play truth or dare. Then, we will have cake and open presents. To find out what kind of cake Lindsay liked, we all just brought up the subject at lunch and said what our favorite kinds were. The funny part was when other people who didn't even know about it started chiming in! After dessert,  we will set up our sleeping bags. We will watch movies and play Scene It until we fall asleep. In the morning, we will have breakfast and everyone will leave at 10:30.
