Spa Sleepover Party 13yr

November 2008

Darcey in London, Middlesex, England

For my 13th birthday I did a spa sleepover. I was inviting 5 girls and I wanted to do something original that my friends hadn't all done before and it couldn't be too expensive. I got thinking about what me and my mates loved to do and my idea started to form. INVITATION: I made my invites by getting some silver glittery paper and in black I printed on them, Come to my Spa Sleepover" we are going to be getting some pampering so bring your bathrobe slippers hair bands and any makeup hair products foot spas and magazines you want to. I also told them to have a shower before they came.  DECORATIONS: Before the day I went out and bought loads of white disposable sheets and covered everything in my room. We have a big bathroom so I used that as my other room but you can use your living room too. I also bought manicure and pedicure sets from my local drugstore as well as face packs nail polish flannels and makeup (the makeup can also be used as prizes later in the party). For the sleepover bit I brought soft drinks junk food like popcorn and rented some movies. I set up different stations and my 2 BFFs came early to help. They brought their foot spas with them and things like hair straightners and curlers. I had one station for makeup another for hair one to relax with a facial and another for foot spa. I also had a station for nails. I put facials nails and foot spa in the bathroom because they were messier and makeup and hair in my bedroom. In the living I put mattresses and bowls of things like popcorn and Doritos. I bought disposable cameras for everyone to take pictures.  ACTIVITIES: When my guests arrived I explained the stations to them and they all got changed into their PJs with their bathrobes over the top and put their slippers on. Then we got busy. It was great fun doing each other's hair and stuff and we just relaxed chatted gossiped and had a laugh. I had laid some food out so people just helped themselves to a few nibbles. Once we felt suitably beautified and everyone was done we went downstairs. GAMES: We played twister truth or dare and our old favourites pin the tail on the donkey and pass the parcel. PARTY SNACKS: Then we chose a movie to watch and ate pizza while it was on. After we cleaned our teeth and chatted a while then we settled down and went to sleep around 11ish which pleased my parents! MORNING: In the morning we had pancakes and everyone got ready and left. By 12ish everyone had gone and I tidied up. My parents were happy because they hadn't had to get very involved and I had cleaned up well. All my friends were talking about the party for ages after and I think it was a great success. It wasn't expensive; I only spent about £45.00 on the whole thing! Hope you have a great party too!"
