I know my daughter is a fan of having a party even when it's not her birthday. She's been begging for weeks and I finally said yes. Although it had to be a small
party with close friends and I would only have to spend little or no money spending. So my daughter got started.
Step 1: Invitations: She started with a yellow piece of construction paper. Then cut out a pink peace sign that cover half of the bottom. Then she cut out a blue flower with a green inside that was overlaping and diagonal from the peace sign. She then took her stencils and traced the heading: Flower Power Party. Then in the space below put the information. Step 2: Decorations: My daughter took cut construction paper and cut it into strips then made ringlets and connected them to make a streamer of bright colors. She hung several up, then cut out magazine photos of hippie clothing and made posters and peace signs and things of that matter, along with flower of course. She then took pillows and set them all over the floor and the couch in our movie area. and added little signs that said where everything was. Step 3: Activities: For activities she had guess who I am" where she wrote down a bunch of 60's/70's object/people and everyone had to try and guess who they were they also watched girl power movies such as; legally blonde 1&2 Amelia NewYork Minute etc. Step 4: Games: My daughter asked the girls to bring all their favorite games. Such as; pictionary man shoots and ladders candyland monopoly etc. Step 5: Costumes: My daughter then asked her friends to come in their best "hippie clothes" They ended up coming in: braided hair tie die shirts and flower skirts. Anything fun and out there will do. Step 6: Party Snacks For party snacks and food I helped out by getting Grape Soda (any soda will do) and lots of fruity and sour candies along with chex mix and water. The guests were welcome to bring there favorite snacks if they wanted. Step 7: Cake: For dinner and dessert we did grill cheeses hot dogs. On the side we kept it really simple and handed out goldfishpretzels and watermelon. For dessert we did my famous tie tie cupcakes. Step 8: Inbetween: The girls watched the movies played games and most of all had a "hip" time. Step 9: Favors: Everyone went home the next day a 10:45 am with fake hippie flowers. Over all it was a great birthday party great for ages 11-14 years of age."
