Kool-aid Slumber 13yr

May 2005

I turned thirteen 2 monthes ago and wanted my birthday party to be VERY special because I was going to be a teenager. Me and my friend Kalyn were brainstorming, we decided we wanted something, fun, creative and unique. We came up with a Kool-aid slumber party. Each friend was assigned a color and flavor. They had to dress in that color. for instance, Rachel was assigned purple grape, so she wore a purple shirt, purple pajama pants, brought a purple sleeping bag, and had a purple polka-dotted swimsuit! Once everyone arrived and put their stuff in the "Slumber Zone" We went outside and tie-dyed T-shirts with Kool-aid! Each girl had a T-shirt with her Color on it and then we had everyone sign them. Afterwards, we were all hot and thirsty so we had a Kool-aid flavor guessing contest. My mom and I picked out the most twisted and hard to guess flavors and colors (you know like, the powder is grenn, but it turns blue when you add it to water but it tastes like cherry) we put them in cups and had each girl take a sip of each one and guess the flavor and color. (If you do this be forewarned, your mouth will be multi-colored when you are finished! All of the snacks that we ate were fruits, chips and Kool-aid of course! Next, we changed into our swimsuits and went swimming! We gave each girl a beach towel in 'their' color. (We found them VERY cheaply at walmart. You don't have to buy expesive ones for this) We played Marco Polo, had raft races and played lots of other pool games. Next we ate dinner outside on our patio. Afterwards we had cake (A rainbow decoracted vanilla cake) and ice cream and I opened presents. Afterwards, we put together REALLY wacky and brigtly colored clothes and had a fashion show (followed by a photo shoot session my dad took pics on his digital camera of us). Then we had a dance session. After that we decided to get in our PJ's and dye our hair with kool-aid (Unsweetened Kool-aid mixed with water works like a charm! But have the girls sleep with their towels over their pillows so it won't stain them.) Afterwards we played Sleeping bag racer, Balderdash, Poker, Murder in the dark and Mafia.  Next, we put on a movie and ate popcorn (We watched Sleepover and Runaway Bride). Then, we all sat around and talked till we dozed off to sleep, the next morning we woke up at 10 (Parents were picking up at 11:00) We had Krispy Kreme donuts for breakfast and then we rolled up sleeping bags and picked everyones stuff up, by that time parents were arriving. The Party Favors were a Kool-Aid Jammers purse filled with flavored lip gloss, a picture of the party girls in our wacky outfits in a colorful frame, wacky scrunchy's and the T-shirt that we made the day before. It was my best birthday party ever!
