This year, I did a Hollywood theme. The invitations were simple. I just found a picture of a movie clapper on Clip Art (I made sure that it had a plain base),
and typed inside of it:
Your invited to ______'s Movie star sleepover! When:______ Where: The _______ family studio Time:______ Bring:________________________ Please call set directors to confirm at: ____-_____. I printed them out at four to a page on white card stock. I glued those on to black construction paper, making sure at least 1 half inch of the black showed around the edges. I cut different sized stars out of the back, and it looked really awesome! On the door, there was a sign that said Welcome to Hollywood! on it. I n the entrance, there was a red carpet, and my dad stood there with a WII mic that was hooked up so it made sound, taking presents and asking simple questions like: When did you start wanting to be and actress?, and what was it like filming your latest movie? Then the girls went into the lounge" and chatted. I had out platters of little appetizers and small glasses of water. To decorate the lounge I posted movie posters advertising upcoming movies and the only light was a dimly lit lamp. Here I took their sleeping bags and other things and put them into the "hotel closet" for safe keeping. When all the girls arrived they were assigned to their first Station. The stations were hair makeup lounge(waiting area) and dressing room. At hair and makeup My mom my friend(who was a teenager) and a couple of other vollunteer moms did our hair and makeup. In the dressing room I had laid out the dresses that I had asked them to bring and also some jewlry that my mom and I had gathered from the various members of the family. At each station the girls were told where to go next. I had posted signs to show where the stations were. When every one had gotten ready and were assembeled in the lounge we did a fasion show. We had a photo shoot after that. In the lounge We had draped a white sheet over the couch and using flashlights and my dad for spotlights we took a group photo and a photo of each girl. After that we played a game called Guess Who. Each girl got a necklace with a picture of a famous actor or actress on it. But my mom put them on with the picture hanging down their backs so they couldn't see the picture. Then every one walked around giving people clues about that persons actor/actress. Once you thought you had guessed who your person was according to the clues you went up to someone and asked Do I have ________? The person would tell you if you were right or not. If you were wrong you would get more clues then guess again. Once everyone had guessed we went into the dining room where we had an "after show" celebration where we had pizza soft drinks and cake. The cake was a big hit. It was a two-layer chocolate circle cake. The layers were held together by chocoate icing that had real chocolate pieces in it. It was iced with chocolate icing and had a chocolate icing border around the top and chocolate swirls on the top. We then opened presents in the lounge. Before bed we wathced high school musical 2 and played my high school musical kareoke game on the WII. We even learned the motions to Getcha Head in the game and We're all in this together. we had popcorn to go with the movie. I had divided the girls up into groups titled things like Oscars and Grammys. I titled the rooms to go with the groups and made them look like hotel suites. Each group got their own suite and I put the beds off limits becouse the last time I had a sleepover everyone fought over the bed. In the morning we ate in the dining room again. After breakfast we each decorated a scrapbook page with our picture and the group picture on it. Their goodies were their scrapbook page in a frame and other movie related goodies. I hope this helps make your Hollywood Sleepover a party you and your guests will never forget!"
