Cruise Ship Sleepover 14yr

Honorable Mention

This doesn't have to be a sleepover. CRUISE SHIP: I always loved going on cruises in the summer with my family, so I decided to try to incorporate a cruise ship into my birthday party.INVITATIONS: I made my own card. I invited 9 people to my party because if you included me it makes 10. PLACE: At first I was going to have it at the local community center, but instead I had it at my house. DECORATIONS: I went with the colors gold, blue, and silver. I bought silver cloth to use as a carpet to go down to my basement. I seperated a portion of the room with the extra silver cloth I had to make a pool area. I bought a huge peice of poster board to draw a pretend balcony with an ocean behind it as a place to take pictures. I brought in beach and lawn chairs in the pool area and used my mother's blue carpet to represent the pool. On the otherside of the silver cloth was the dinning hall and the place where we would play the games and eat. On the cruise ship we went on they had square glass windows on the walls and I thought it was really pretty. I bought some blank cd's from the dollar store and some string. I hanged the CD's from the string and attached them to the wall. I took some of the fold chairs and tables from the attic and covered them with table cloths and put candles in the center of them as center peices. For the final touch I used christmas lights and put them around the bottom of the floor. GAMES: On the Cruise ship I went on the attire for dinner was very formal. I wanted to make some kind of costume game to represent that. COSTUME GAME: My dad and I went to the salvation army and bought some dresses, shoes, skirts, shirts, purses, and hats (I made all the clothes XL-2X so they would fit loosely). I seperated everyone into 2 teams of five. Each team picked 2 people to be their models. Each team had to make a formal outfit for each of their models. The team with the two best outfits won a prize(my mom was the judge). There was lots of dancing on the cruise ship so I made-up a game for that. WALTZ GAME: It's called the waltz game so I taught everyone how to waltz. I checked out some classical music at the library for this game. Switch up the teams you had before. Everyone stands in a single file line and spaced out some. The last person in line waltz's with the person in front of them for about 5 seconds, then they go to the next person and the next person till they get to the front then they stand infront of the first person. The next person goes, then the next person, then the next person. When the person who was first in line is in the back of the line (has waltzed with everyone in the line). They all sit down. The first team to finish wins. SET-UP THE TABLE GAME: I couldn't think of a better name. This is were the tabels come in. When I ate at the cruise ship. The tabel was set up really nice. There was fork on one side a knife on the other then a spoon on the other side and etc. I printed out a picture of how a table should be set-up. I gave a picture of it to each team. I gave both of them 6 forks, 3 knives, and 3 spoons, and three plates. The teams had a minute to set-up the table the fastest team won a prize. TREASURE HUNT: This game had nothing to do with a Cruise Ship but there always fun. I used my backyard for this game. I bought earrings, candy, braclets, notebooks, and other things from the dollarstore and claires. PRIZES: for the prizes I bought most of them from claires and the dollar store and I bought a few five dollar giftcards to starbucks, the movie theaters, claire's, and the mall. But another good place to look for stuff is at Target in the dollar section or at Walgreens. FOOD: My dad bought some pizza from Little Ceasers. I went to the supermarket with my mom and bought some snacks like oreos, cheetos, doritos, lays, carrots, celery, tomatos, cheese, fruit, and some bread with nutella. The whole party was about 60-70 dollars.(since I had most of the things or I bought things on sale). My friends loved the whole party and are still talking about it.
