14th Birthday Sleepover! For My 14th birthday party, i wanted to have a guy/girl party but my parents didnt really like the idea of having an open house party.
So instead, i invited 10 of my close friends (all girls) for a sleepover. We did all of the normal things but we also added some things to make it more fun for girls our age!
Invites- I like doing graphic design, so i made my invitations on the computer and they turned out really cute. I printed them out on shiny paper and then gave them out at lunch (all my friends sit at my table, so no one was left out) Decorations- My favorite color is pink, so i decorated the house with a lot of pink and girly stuff. I also used clear christmas tree lights to add something to the space. Food- I love to cook so this was a chance to try out some new recipes. We had the normal hamburgers and hotdogs on friday night. For late night snacks, we had homemade nachos, cinnamon sticks, smoothies, buffalo wings, and frozen bannanas. The next morning, we had all of the normal breakfest foods. Activities- When everyone got to my house; we all went swiming in my pool. Then a couple of people wanted to go down to the tennis courts, so we did that. When we got back, we had dinner. Then we started on all of the crafting. I have Caprisun purses, and my friends are always asking me to make them one. So, at my party, i decided that it would be fun to make them! Ahead of time, everyone told me what color they wanted their purse and i bought the juice boxes. The weekend before my party i slit the bottoms and washed and dried out the pouches. I also went to Joann fabrics and picked out patterned webbing for the handles. I also got beaded trim to go around the tops of the bags. Everyone had a blast making them. We also made matching chandelear earrings and necklaces to match. After this was done, we opened all of my birthday presents. Then we all got our sleeping bags out and got our pj's on. We rented alot of DVD's and we did nails, hair, makeup, and facial masks. We also listend to music throughout the night. We went to bed really late. The next morning, we cleaned up the family room. Then everyone changed into the outfits they had brought. All of the clothes matched that persons purse and jewlery. Then we ate breakfest and had a ping-pong tournament. After that, parents started to come. Favors- Well of course everyone had their awesome purses and jewlery! We took alot of pictures at the party and i made a slide show set to music with all the pics. Then i decorated covers for everyone. I gave the cd's out with my thank you notes at school on monday. Everyone had their purses and jewlery at school with them. It was really cool! Although this party took some work and planning, it turned out to be so much fun! Everyone said that it was one of the best parties they had been to in a long time. This was a great alternative to a guy/girl party and i think it was actually better. Everyone was comfortable and we had a great time with just the girls!
