Cosmic Bowl/Sleepover Party 13yr

April 2009

Meredith in Attleboro,Ma USA

For my daughter's 13th birthday I decided on combining a few ideas.  The main event would be the Cosmic Bowling, but seeing as that didn't start until 8pm I needed other activities. The party is going to start at 2pm and will be a sleepover. There will be 6 girls total. For the invitations I am going to have my daughter cut out bowling ball shapes from black paper and write details w/ white crayon as well as decorate with glow in the dark glue(for the cosmic part). The girls are going to be asked to bring their bathing suits b/c we will be swimming at the YMCA which is w/in walking distance from our house. As the girls arrive I am going to have them assemble their Make Your Own" lasagnas. I will have cooked the meat and noodles in advance and set these out w/ sauce and cheese. Each girl will have a small tin that they will put together the lasagnas in. After they are done w/ this I will also have them make their own Giant pretzels made w/ pre made dough and have them put a topping on it(Cinn&SugarCheeseSalt etc...). These will be put aside when they are done and I will cook everything while the girls are swimming at the YMCA.  Before we take them to swim we are going to head to a local candy store where each girl will be given a $5 gift card and a small brown bag to fill w/ penny candy. This is going to be their goodie bags. I thought this would be a nice change of pace since they are getting older. After they are done w/ this we will then drop them at the Y to swim. They will swim for about 2hrs so we can have them eating dinner by 6pm followed by cake.  After dinner they will get ready for bowling.  Each girl will be given a gift card at the bowling alley that has $5 worth of tokens on it so they can play video games while they are there.  The Cosmic bowling lasts for 2 hours so they will be picked up by 10pm. While they are bowling I will set up a table with tons of snacks(chips the pretzels they made candy drinks etc...). After bowling they will do the usual sleepover stuff in her room where she will have them all sleep.  The next day I have a few games on hand if she wants to have them play some.  I am thinking scavenger hunt guess the type of chip while blindfolded water balloon toss and also my daughter is getting Karaoki for the WII and they can do that as well.  I always make her pancakes or waffles for breakfast so that is what we will be serving.  "
