I had the cutest invitations for our Oscar Party! I made up and invitation on Publisher and taped each one to a bag of unpopped microwave popcorn. Then I stuck it in a cardboard
popcorn box (bought off the internet $12 for 50).
I cut peices off yellow and red cellophane and stuck in the box and topped it with red and gold metallic shreds. For decorations I'm using a black table cloth, little black top hats filled with gold Werther's candy, a large gold glittered top hat, gold and silver stars from the ceiling, gold and silver star garland, gold and silver star confetti scattered, black ballons, champage glasses tied at the stem with gold and silver curling ribbon, and gold floating candles in glass bowls. I'm also using our kitchen island to make a "snack bar". I am making a sign that looks like a snack bar menu (minus the prices!). I'm setting up the rest of my popcorn boxes filled with popcorn. I'm buying boxes of movie theater candy and stacking them around. I'm also serving nachos, hot dogs, and pizza. I even have concession stand cups for soda! We are also making posters with old pictures from past parties and using titles like, "On the set of My Big Fat Jamaican Wedding". We have a red carpet (a long red plastic tablecloth) to put on the porch. We have little director's clapboard key rings to use as prizes for whoever gets the most correct predictions of the winners and whoever has the most original costumes. The invitations told everyone to come "dressed as a star (real or imagined)!"
