My daughter is turning 13 and is bored with all of the typical music and movie parties. She wants something that her friends will remember for a long time. We decided to have a gypsy/fortune telling party. We are sending out invitations with suns, moons and stars on them. I have some of the battery operated candles from halloween that we are going to set up. I've bought pieces of cloth that were on sale and draped the windows with it and placed one over my coffee table. When the girls get here I am going to do tarot card reading for all of them. While I am doing the readings, I've set up a scent station where the girls can mix up their own essential oils that they can wear as perfume or use to make candles. I'm going to teach them how to use a pendulum to ask yes or no questions (all they'll have to do is hold it between their finger and thumb...the muscles in the fingers will move the pendulum). My daughter's cake has moons and stars. I've bought some inexpensive velveteen 5x7 bags and I am putting in glow sticks, vials with the scents that they created, pendulums of their own and pop rocks candy. I'm even going to make a folder for them with some aroma therapy hints and color therapy hints, and type out their predictions from the tarot reading. They will always have something to remember the birthday party and it is unique.
