My nineteenth birthday is going to be that birthday I will never forget as long as I live. I was a freshman in college at the University of Mississippi, twelve
hours away from home! Needless to say, I was pretty depressed about the thought that I would have to spend my birthday all alone :( I had told
a couple of my closest friends about my birthday but usually after the 18th birthday people don't really make as big a deal about birthdays. My team had a match that day an hour away from school and I expected it to be a regular day, I was not a happy birthday girl. Much to my surprise when I got home that evening around 6 and unlocked my door, I walked into a birthday wonderland! my friends and roommate had decorated my dorm room there was confetti and streamers and balloons everywhere! and sitting on my pillow was a little unsigned card that directed me to go to the eleventh floor to a room that I was unfamiliar with, I went in and two girls that were acquaintances of mine ordered me to get on my knees. I did and they blindfolded me and proceeded to take me on a blind tour of the campus, not speaking and handing me off to other people, some I could recognize and some I couldn't, the whole time I had no idea where I was. They put me in and out of cars and walked me up and down stairs, they took me out of the car for the last time and pushed me through a door and pulled the blindfold off to reveal all of my friends in my favorite coffeehouse singing Happy Birthday. What I thought would be the worst birthday of my life turned out being the very best!
