I'm turning 13 soon, and I wanted a party that fit my personality and would be fun for my friends. So, I looked on the internet and found the closest drive-in theatre- I love retro things so I thought that would be a lot of fun and my friends would like it, too. I'm inviting 5 people so when you add me and my mom, it makes 7 and we can fit in my aunt's van, which we're borrowing to take to the drive-in. My guests will arive at 6 or 7 pm, and for dinner we'll set out English muffins, pizza sauce, and toppings for everyone to make their own mini pizzas. For toppings, you could use pepperoni, cheese, olives, anchovies, etc.. Make sure you have a wide variety so everyone gets what they want. After dinner, we'll open presents if we have time, but we'll probably wait to have cake because nobody will be hungry right after dinner. Then we'll all get in the van, which I'll fill with blankets and pillows to make it more comfortable. On the way to the drive-in theatre, we'll play games like pass the parcel (classic) and the camera game. If you don't know how to play, for pass the parcel all you need to do is wrap a small prize (beanie baby, cd, candy bar, whatever you like) about 10 times with wrapping paper. Then get in a circle and play music, passing the prize around, stopping the music occasionally. Every time the music stops, the person holding the prize unwraps one layer of paper. This continues until the last layer is unwrapped, and that person wins it. The camera game is also easy- use a digital camera or another camera that has a timer on it, passing it around the circle- make sure it is facing each person that holds it, that way when the timer stops you'll get some hilarious candid photos of people who weren't expecting it! I'll probably make a mix CD to play in the van with fun songs that everyone can sing along to. Anyway, at my party we'll also have some snacks in the van to munch on when we're on the way to the drive-in and when the movie's playing. I forgot to add, we'll all change into our PJs before we leave- I highly suggest that, it's so much more fun that way! After the movie is over, we'll drive back to my house, possibly stopping at our local grocery store to grab some more snacks or something- just to see people's reactions to a bunch of hyper girls running around town in their pajamas :). Once we get back to my house, we'll eat cake and have root beer floats (these are great with cake because you get the ice cream and drink all in one). For the plates and decorations, I'm just going to find some cool party supplies that I like- but if you want to, you could totally use some 50's party ware to go along with the drive-in. For the sleepover, we'll just goof off, listen to music, and play more games until everyone leaves the next day. Hope some of these ideas inspired you- remember, the purpose of a party is to HAVE FUN! :)
