My son is turning 13 this August, and he still loves a good carnival!  So, He actually came up with the idea to have Chase's Carnival.  The thought that he is turning 13 made me think that it would be a little young for a teen birthday party, but as we talked he and I came up with the perfect stuff to keep it TEEN! We are going to have a pole set tent up with TICKETS written on a large sign, but this will also serve as a drink station.  The person that is manning the ticket booth will have the ice chest there to hand out drinks so, there is not so much wasted...as we all know happens...lol. There are goin to be several different games, and contest. We will have the traditional games like the ring toss on the coke bottles and the dart board with the balloons, football through the tire, and several others...however they will all have an older look to them, with some of the things that teens can appreciate.  The highlites will be that we have rented a dunking booth.  It will be delivered and set up for the small fee we paid. I have told the kids he invited to bring a swim suit if they would like to be in the dunking booth.  We will draw names for someone to sit in it, and adults can be added by their children if they agree!!! This is sure to keep them all entertained till time for the contest.  We are going to have some great sloppy outdoor games, and a find the worms in the pie with your hands behind your back. I did this one at a church carnival...low cost, lots of memories, and laughs.  I have made my own invitations so that they do not look to young. I formatted it like a Carnival announcement bulletin.  I said it was a Center Stage production, and included some wild writing and neat phrases! I have gotten a popcorn machine, and we have bought brown bags and my son is going to add his touch to them, and of course write popcorn!  Then we have cotten candy, and the other junk treats they love.  My husband is making homemade corndogs, and we are using plain red, yellow, or blue plates and cups.  Then another treat is my son loves to cook, and he is going to make some cupcakes and other little snacks, and we are gonna do a loud cake walk...with their kind of music.  I am so ready.  I love the creation time I get to spend with my child, and that he will have a great time and birthday!
