I gave my sons a FROM BOYS TO MEN PARTY. They were turning 20 &21 I rented a hall , I had them picked up in a 10 passenger limousine, I rented a room for them and their friends and the hotel.  As they were introduced I asked the dj ton play New Editions, "this is the things that turn boys to men" As they entered I crowned them as my kings.  We then had a untraditional toast, all guest raised there glasses and we had there first drink with them as men.  I had a Mother & son dance with them because the next time I do this I will be giving them away to their wives. We danced off of MAMA, by boys to men.   the cake consisted of three parts. 1 part has Minzell name , date of birth and weight on it and a baby in a cradle and it said its a boy.  Montrell said the same thing. the one in the middle had two men sitting on the top ( this symbolized the transition from boys to men) I then wrote biographies of them and read them out loud I ended them with telling them How much I love them and appreciated them for being such good Loving and caring children. I gave them certificates telling them they made the successful transition from a boy to a man.  The decoration was pictures of them from birth to the age they are now all around the hall. at the end of the event we opened up the floor to anyone who wanted to make a brief comment about a special event, or moment they shared with my sons. it was a terrific day and it was a success. everyone loved it because it was truly a special day And because I created this theme.  I am a Bridal consultant/events planner. My sons Minzell & Montrell felt like kings for the day.
