For my 13th birthday party, I started by coming to this website (www.teenpartyideas.com) and
looking through a ton of teen party's. I took a ton of ideas, and combined them - some of which I've already used, and some of which I'm looking forward to using. First of - there must be a signiture drink. My (famous-ish) punch is Gingerale, Orange Sherbert, Frozen Strawberry's, and some pinapple juice. It's deee-lish! Twinkle lights are a MUST. They are so... Twinkly! They make a great party decoration. If this is a sleep-over, then get some great movies (such as Legally Blonde, Mean Girls, Clueless, Little Mermaid - old classics are great, maybe Charlies Angels or Pirates - something a little older..). However, if this is not a sleepover, then don't get a movie. What's the point of having all your friends come over and just sit around watching a movie? Unless it's a movie night. Then I'd recomend supplying a movie. Anyway. Get some good games - Apples to Apples is fun for a board game. However, try Truth or Dare. Incase you've never played it before the rules are very simple - all you have to do is choose who goes first. That person chooses a person to ask. Person #1 says "Truth or Dare". Now, Person # 2 (who gets asked the question) gets to choose whether she wants to take whatever dare the group picks, or answer whatever question the group picks. Person #1 should let the group help choose a question, but she always has Veto power (in other words, she's the only one who can say no. Only rule: If you have a truth you must take it, unless you posotivly won't, but then you have to do another one. If you do a dare, and you won't take it, you have to answer two truths NO MATTER WHAT. Okay. Now. Off this website there's a very fun game called Barbie Fashion Show (thank you to whoever recomended it my friends had a BLAST!). Basicly what you do is create a fun runway (we stacked to big full plastic craft boxes and put a board on it to make it sturdy, than covered it with a plastic tablecloth), then you give each girl a small amount (1-32) of big green trashbags and a bigger amount (2-3) of small white ones, scissors, tape (clear and masking), markers, and construction paper. Then you give them say 20 minutes (Set a timer!) and devide everyone into 2 teams. Then the 2 teams go in different rooms. They have a list of things they need to make (create your own!) such as a hat, a purse, a skirt or pants, a shirt, or dress, shoes, etc. 1 person is the model and can't say anything (though she sometimes can give input anyway), and everyone else designs. When the timer runs out the model (who's weaering the clothes) has to model on the runway to a fun song (Runway, but Madona. Or Material Girls - Hilary and Haylie Duff. Or on the run-way from the Lizzie McGuire movie) no matter what they look like. Take pleanty of pictures! For food: Pizza munchies are good. So are nachos, chips-and-dip, pretzels, gold fish, chex mix, pizza, burgers (especially cut small with cookie cutters), finger sandwhiches, and more - homemade soft pretzels are great - you can find the recipe all over the place. Make sure to have some soda or juice, along with water. Don't put out desert until the end unless you place small (SMALL) bowls of candy around the room. Then for desert you don't need cake - you can do cupcakes, or ice-cream sundaes (make your own!), or cookies. That's about all the tips I have! LOVE THE WEBSITE! Good luck with your party, and hope I've helped!!
