Winter Aloha Party 12-14yr

February 2008

Rachel in Kamloops, BC, Canada

I sent out my invites to six of my friends (this will work with almost any amount) and I told them that they can show up from 2:00 to 2:30 or else we will plan a cruel and unusual punishment for them (we were joking). We also made two selection boxes. you can go home from 9:00 to 9:30 or you can stay for a sleepoever and go home when after we wake up and eat. So everyone showed up. Four out of the six people I invited will be staying for a sleepover. So they showed up. We hid our family room and didn't let anyone in it. Finally at 2:30 everyone was there so we went to the pool. At the pool I told everyone that they had to be in the lobby by 4:15. We swam, went in the hot tub and baked in the sauna. At 4:15 we were all in the lobby. So we went back to my house and we were back at 4:30. These hairdresser people (just ask a hairdresser, alot of them will do this) braided our hair with the beads and everything to set the mood. We watched Mean Girls while they braided. The family room had a big poster of the Bahamas covering the glass door and there were tropical flowers and bowls of tropical fruit everywhere for people to snack on. At 6:30 they finished. So we ate some caribbean food (it was along time ago so I forgot what it was, but it was caribbean) and then we had an ice-cream cake with palm trees and stuff on it. Then we opened presents. By the time this was done it was 8:00. So everyone changed into there swimsuits and stood in front of the poster so it looked like they were really there. We changed back into our real clothes and threw pieces of Mangoes at my brother and stuff. It was really fun. As party Favors I gave everyone a Kiwi, sunscreen bottle, and tropical flower for there hair. The sleepover went like most sleepovers. I had a CD full of hawaiian songs. Every one split into two groups and we had a dance compitition. We ate more fruit and had pop. The people at the sleepoever got a can of pop with the other party favors. When everyone left my parents went to a craft store where they made postcards with our poster pictures" as the picture. I gave these out at school the next day. It was the BEST party ever! My parents didn't tell me the price but they didn't complain so I don't think that it was too expensive. People in fact still talk about it to this day!"
