I'm turning 16 in July and I finally decided on a theme for my party! I'm going to have a tropical luau...I'm not gunna make people dress in grass skirts or anything like that because they would rather dress in their own clothes probably (I know I would lol) but its going to be in my backyard.. I live on the water so it should be nice. I'm renting a big tent with plenty of tables and chairs, a DJ of course, a TIKI BAR!!, and a frozen drink machine (w/ pina coladas and strawberry daiquiris)On each table I am going to use pineapples for the centerpiece (and have balloons attached to them) my party favors are going to be real coconut cups with a hibiscus flower on the side of each one..and they will have little "Jeana's Sweet 16" tags on them. This way people will be able to use them for the tropical drinks being served and take them home as a memento. Also I will be putting leis and lei bracelets all over the tables for people to put on...the pretty ones with the silk flowers.  I'm going to also rent fake palm trees and maybe some parrots for decor and have grass skirts on the tables. for food I will be mostly serving appetizers such as bar-b-queued chicken and pineapple on skewers..since most of my friends won't eat that much anyway. I'm going to have floating flower candles in my Jacuzzi too to add to the tropical setting.. since its at night it will look pretty. I think that everyone will have a really good time..and its something different because all my friends are having big fancy parties at halls with gowns and stuff. this will be more casual and fun...hopefully I helped some ppl with ideas for their parties.. wish me luck with mine!
