Ok well when I was turning 13 my mom gave me money to throw my birthday.  Since i did not have a pool at my house at the time i had it at my aunts huge house!   INVITATIONS - i went onto Microsoft Office and downloaded the tropical themed background. I added all the information date, time, place, etc., and printed them out on regular white paper.  i rolled them up into little rolls and then i purchased these little clear plastic bottles and inserted the homeade invitation into them. I put confetti and a paper umbrella in it. Everybody thought there were so cute and a very creative idea. I thought so too!(:  DECORATIONS - Because her house was so large, we used the front of her house the backyard where the pool was, and the tennis court. FOr the front we but balloons at the bottom of the driveway(red, orange, yellow, hot pink, red and green.) We put the same color streamers in the trees. We hung the same balloons all over the front back and tennis court.  We bought colored poster board from the store and just wrote on them depending on what it was. By the food we just put a board up that said food with hibiscus flowers drown on it. My aunt had a bar outside so we put another one up that said TIKI BAR and had surfboards drawn on it. We put a big blow up palm tree so that people could take pictures by it.  However, the best decoration idea I had was extremely simple. I took an unused white bed sheet and I painted a ocean background on it. We hung it up on the basketball hoop and people went over and we took pictures by it! Everyone got a copy and all of the people invited have the pictures in their lockers. FOOD:  for the food we made a hawaiian pizza a couple different types, fresh and frozen fruit kabobs. We then had a chocolate fountain with pineapple bananas grahm crackers, marshmellows, pretzels and unsalted unbuttered popcorn. It was a HUGE hit! Then we had a traditional punch. Regualar salad and dressing, and a veggie tray(the usual party food). Then we had a beach themed cake that had palm trees on it and even though i was only turning 13 it was a very sophisticated sharp but fun and cute looking cake.
