It's the end of the school year, so I thought that a Hawaiian themed party would be a cool idea and perfect for the hot weather. The party will be in my back/side yard, and also in my basement
which is fairly big. My yard is about 12 acres of just grass and a few trees so i figured it'll be perfect to have lots of people. I am planning on inviting about 30-40 people(boys and girls)
to my party which will be from 7:00pm to 12:00am. First I made my guest list, the people who i am very close friends with plus their other friends. Then I checked with my closest friends to
seee what therr schedule was so that I won't plan a party while they're out of town. I picked a date when just about everyone was available. Then I started planning the activities. I won't
want everyone doing the same thing at once, I think people have the most fun when they're off doing what they want. I will first set up my basement, which will be the place for people sit
down, watch a movie, or chill. My basement has a little trampoline to amuse people and a table decorated with hibiscus flowers and a colorful table cover which will be set up with food.
There's a freezer next to the table and it will be filled with ice cream and popsicles for my guests. When my guests arrive at my house, they will
be handed flower hawaiian neckalces, grass skirts, and hibiscus clips for to put in their hair (for girls). When I arrive, I will come outside with 3 of my v.i.ps(bestfriends), and all o us will be wearing different colored grass skirts and hibiscus headbands. Before the party, we'll all put pink streaks in our hair (permanent dye) and have matching makeup so that people can know who the VIPS are. Also, my friend will have a flowery table set up for her with blowup tiki poles on the porch for her to be the DJ. She'll play popular music and hawaiian music that people can dance to. Next to the porch will be a couple of limbo poles. I'll decorate my yard with plastic flamingos and blowup palm trees with built in ice-coolers to keep drinks. There will also be a big shade canopy decorated with paper lamps, colorful balloons, and hawaiian flowers. Under it will be 2 tables with hibiscus table skirts. One for hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, and fruit, and the other as a tiki bar for my sister to hand out refreshments in margarita glasses with mini paper umbrellas. Next to the tables will be smaller tables with chairs so that some guests can sit and eat or drink. The plates will be colorful plastic plates shaped as shells that i bought (INEXPENSIVE!!). There also will be punch bowls on the tables, also shaped as seashells. Next to the shade canopy will be some beach mats laid out on the ground with colorful beach chairs, parisols, and a small kiddie pool with rubber duckies. The rubber duckies that i bought were only about $8 for a dozen and they were hawaiian themed. Buckets will be placed around the yard, filled with water balloons, so that guests have the choice of having a water balloon fight to cool off. I'll have my friends help me set up my volleyball net and my badmitten net. People can play badmitten and also Volleyball with an enourmous blowup volleyball. As the night gets cooler, my parents will start a fire in a firepit so that people can dry off, and make smores. When it gets darker, glow bracelets and necklaces will be handed out and the music will start up again. People also can go inside to the basement and have some cake which will have colorful icing hibiscus flowers. They also can play spin the bottle, seven minutes in heaven, truth or dare, anything.(My parents will stay up inside the 3rd floor, to keep from embarrassing me!) When it is time for my guests to leave, they will be handed party-favors in hawaiian patterned bags. Inside will be a rubber duckie, another lei necklace, rainbow lollipops, pop rocks, other candies, glow in the dark tattoos, star shaped colorful sunglasses, mini bottles of sun tan lotion, and flower bracelets.
