I'm going to turn 13 in May! I havn't had the party yet, but I've been planning for weeks.(I love planning parties)It will be a luau. I live in an oceanfront home. __INVITES__For invites, I'm going to make message in a bottle". First type your invite on white paper using a font like "Monotype Corsiva". Next crumble the invites into balls(I know this sounds crazy! trust me!). After that soak them in tea. This gives them a cool worn affect! Finally to top it off slightly burn the edges. (have an adult help you)They will look amazing I promise!. Then I went to a party supply store and bought medium sized plastic bottles & labels(for mailing). Fill the bottom of the bottle with sand. (about 1/4inch) Tightly cork them and fill out the labels. They are ready for mailing!These are suprisingly cheap.__DECORATIONS__As I said I live oceanfront so the beach is the party location. I have 2 porches. The lower porch will hold a DJ and his equipment. The top deck will be what I call "The Tiki Lounge". My uncle bartends so I've asked him to make non-alcaholic drinks at my tiki bar!(think strawberry daquiris shirly temples punch etc.) I will take colorful sheets and make a tent with chairs and lights. This creates a cool shady lounge affect. The beach will be main fun spot. There will be tiki-torches everywhere. The party will take place 4:00pm to 9:00pm(except a few close friends I invited to sleep over). I will decorate with tikis and also a cardboard cut-out of a man & hula girl you can stick your head in. I am going to lay out beach blankets for everyone to sit on.__ACTIVITIES__When everyone comes in they will recieve leis. The boys will recieve beach hats. While it is light outside I will put out boogey-boards & surf boards for everyone to use. We will hold a sand castle contest. Also we will set up beach volleyball and classics like "limbo". Also we will have a tresure hunt. When it gets dark we will build a fire on the beach(check to make sure this is legal in your area). We will eat pizza fruit and cookie cake. The other guests will go home. The girls that were invited to sleep over will set up their things in what was the tiki lounge earlier.(we will sleep on the porch!) All night we will paint our nails and do girl stuff.__FAVORS__The leis and hats they got earlier in addition to the treasure from the treasure hunt. Also they will recieve candy.
