Audrey Hepburn Party 14yr

May 2010

Olivia in Manhattan, New York, America

For my fourteenth birthday party, I decided to do something different and fun. For the INVITATIONS I printed off pictures of Audrey Hepburn from the Internet and put the information on them. I stuck glitter all over them! For my DECORATIONS I got life-size images of scenes from lots of different Audrey Hepburn movies and hung them on the wall along with mountains of twinkle lights and a huge disco ball in the middle of the dancefloor. I have quite a big house and so we used the whole ground floor for the party. We blew up lots and lots of balloons. ACTIVITIES: I asked all of my guests to come to the party dressed as Audrey Hepburn in any of her movies. Once all of my guests had arrived, we split them up into two groups (I had twenty guests and so I had two groups of ten, but it'll depend how many guests you have to your party. One of the teams had 11, because I joined a team). We then told them what we were going to do. We set up a runway in the middle of the dancefloor, and each person from each team had to take it in turns to walk up the runway and model their outfit. The rest of the person's team and the other team had to take pictures of the person, and then everyone had to write down the name of the character they were dressed as, and what movie they were from. After it was finished, my mom and two sisters acted as judges. Each person from each team had to read out who they thought each person was dressed as (and what movie they were from). Points were given if you got the answer right. I was the last to walk down the runway, and whoever guessed who I was first won the point (each team had to hold up a card, like pressing a buzzer, if they thought they knew the answer). After the competition, instead of GAMES we all danced on the dancefloor. For the COSTUMES, obviously each guest had to come dressed as a character from an Audrey Hepburn movie. For PARTY SNACKS, I had little cupcakes and sausage rolls and mini pizzas laid out on a table with chips and soda for anyone at any time to take. For my CAKE I had a big cake with a picture of Audrey Hepburn on it, and for the FAVORS I gave each guest a vintage Audrey Hepburn mobile phone pouch, and some candy and a little keychain each. All of my guests say they had lots of fun, and I still remember that party as being one of the best I've ever had!
