My friend and I through an "End of the Year Red Carpet Party" to celebrate leaving middle school. It was a hit! Everyone enjoyed it and it only took a few weeks to plan!
We had posters and pictures of celebrities all over the walls of the hall that we had rented and we even had a seperate room with a camera set up so all of our friends could get pictures. Our invitations were shaped like ticket stubs and were adressed to our friends as MS. and Mr. we asked that everyone dress up, guys in ties and the girls in dresses. We had a wide variety, from prom dresses to skirts and suits to t-shirts with a tie thrown on. Everyone looked there best and when walking down the red carpet that we had as you entered the door, they truly looked like celebrities. my friends dad was our "bouncer" and if your name was not on the list you didnt get in. We had goldfish as centerpieces and balloons dropped from the ceiling during the first song! We hired a band, who not only played for us, but also d-jayed a few songs. This band was in our grade and played for free! We ended up having a great food spread and for games we had clues set out where you had to guess the movie title and we voted on King and Queen of the party. My friend and I had to pay for everything our selves and we were on a tight budget. Our school does not have any type of graduation or prom for us so we through our own. Like I said, everyone enjoyed it and kids are still talking about it, its a great way to see everyone dressed up and is a great party idea!
